i have a lot of things to be sorry for; on the way to work this rainy morning, i realised that the president of the university i work at has never uttered the word 'sorry' during my current tenure of 5 years. that's a whole shitload of years. one might say he has nothing to be sorry about and those who actually know him or dealt with him would say he's too egotistical to even apologise.
his common words are 'worthless','lazy','buggers' used to describe us for any fuckin problem the university encounters. hardly encouraging words to people who, if i may so egotistically say makes the university. So why am i still there or how did i decide to return? i'm happy to say this will be my last gig, this is my trump card and any opportunity for me to switch - i will. memories will be memories, etched in time. now it is time to move on.
how can one be so lowly regarded when the core people at a university are the academics? when the university becomes a business then we are but worker ants working mindlessly to appease. when quality is sacrificed for quantity. when grades do not matter anymore.
fortunately i'm sorry that i do not live in his dark world of eccentricity. neither of us do.
