the day after in khartoum, woke up with a dizzying feeling, thought i was back home. dug my nose, pffftt it's all just sand. yes ladies & gentlemen, i am in a desert plain again.
there's not a whole lot of shit to do in khartoum, sudan; actually there's nothing to do. today is friday and it's their weekend and prayer day. so there's actually no one on the streets and it basically looks dangerous. it doesn't look like a war torn country but it sure is fucking dusty here. the airport has 3 AA guns pointing toward the sky (gee i wonder why?) - i have to take a picture of that later when i leave. though many said that you can't take pictures of bridges and the army base. hmm ok.
i had a glimmer of hope when a safari was mentioned (i've been to fucking afrika twice now and i haven't been to a safari) but alas a colleague was too chicken shit to see a lion in open space. so maybe we'll see the river nile later. pffft. fuck. and tonite will be a dance thingy to exorcise demons or something. umm im not actually looking forward to that.
there's nothing to eat here except chicken, so im probably gonna be eating a whole lotta chickens.
