i'm amazed that this city practices the same bullshit Malaysian cops tried on drivers. I have a friend who travels back to kuantan every fortnight who can actually tell me which camera is working and how to distinguish the dummy ones on the karak highway. That's the speed cameras.

now for red light cameras, i safely say that the camera around the SS2 area definetley works. i should know, i got fined a couple of times. So now, this brings me to Auckland city, i was say amazed at the same time a little disappointed at this.



now i know we asians have the math at the back of our palms but this is common sense. 300 cars multiply by the minimum of $150 fine amounts to $45000 a day; how can that not be enough to cover the cost of operation? whoa whoa whoa why is this so important to me? .... because as a pedestrian, i'm sick & tired of idiots who speed up when the walking man is GREEN. it takes 13 clicks for the GREEN walking man to turn RED, now that's not a whole lot of walking time, i'd have to be marathon sprinter to cross a 4 lane road to make it before RED man appears. to be honest, i'm a little pissed because all this time i was thinking that the idiot that almost ran me over was going to be fined for running the RED but lo and behold, the camera boxes are EMPTY. thanks very much, Auckland City. what the fuck are the ratepayers paying for? ... your luxury room at the Hilton?
