french fly and spanish fry ?

2 really good games, well worth staying up for. It was the old masters teaching the young pups "wait another 4 years". all the slack about brazil & france losing the plot of the world cup is buried under the rumble of 3 goals each.

Brazil v Ghana
i like the Ghana side, they play real fast paced counter attacking football but with that they leave themselves open at the back. Brazil still playing joga bonito had a very hard time containing the counters but when they did hold the 'black stars', they flashed their brillance in passing up front. The Ghanaian's were really missing Essien and only really relied on Apaiah for control. The Ghanaian side will be back in 4 years and by that time, hopefully their offside traps would be better. Taking nothing away from the Samba Boys, they controlled the game and showed Ghana they still had much to learn. ++ Ghana deserved at least 1 goal ++

Spain v France
a repeat of the 1998 world cup, the young Spain side takes on an aging French side. Before the match, i guess everyone (me included) had doubts about the french, expecially Zidane. 90 minutes and the french are back, taking the spanish boys to class. The next Zidane(despite an awful haircut) Frank Ribery will be hot on every English + Spanish club next season. Every spanish player was closed down (including Luis'black sh*t'Aragones), Torres never flashed his brillance as Gallas + Makalele closed his arse down. Raul? who?. i actually expected Joaquin to start XI but when he came on as a sub, he never really made his dashing runs. The french midfield dominated the game andi guess the villain of the match would be 1 of my favourite central defenders Carlos Puyol. As distraught as he must be, he really should not have given the free kick that led to the french 2nd goal. Anyway Spain, aptly dubbed 'underdogs' will have to wait another 4 years to try again.

So Brazil v France the 1998 world cup final repeat. if the french play like they did today, what a game we will have.
