almost burglar'd ..celaka!

celaka!! someone tried to "jimmy" the apartment door lock.

came back to find, the lock keyhole a little woobly, wait the fuck up! the entire metal piece holding the keyhole is gone. i knew that whoever it was, didn't get because the entire lock was still functional. Put on my braveface, walked in armed with only a sophie grierson free umbrella, i was prepared to lay the smackdown on some perps, only to find everything ....

still in tact.

the thought of losing stuff isn't as paralysing as fuckin losing the MA files on my laptop. fuck! thankfully locks here aren't Malaysian-made, if not then i'd be here another year. fuck!

if you thought that this never happens anywhere except KL, think again. The apartment is by keycard entry, supervisor is thinking that it's an internal job; i'm thinking of connecting the door to a 12V battery! Receptionist asked me to talk to cops, to which i think, "what the fuck for" they'll arrive 3-4 hours late, can't do jack shit because we weren't broken into. if they seem to be efficient, they'd look at the CCTV cameras (if it was working in the first place) and do some CSI shit to find the perp and all this for a misdemeanor charge of unlawful trespassing into the apartment building which amounts to 10hours of community service which the perp probably is NOT going to turn up for and the officers aren't going to care anyway.

right what's important to me is the 1.39GB called MA Master Source Files which i have stored at AUT (2 copies), in my bag, in the laptop, in the cd pouch and hidden inside my luggage bag.

::update::
the locks replaced today and a new dead bolt went going in, cost=NZD$225; not losing the MA master files = priceless.
