what are you looking at?

i was walking back from a swim today and i noticed a few WRX'es with meter pillars and console meters apart from the ordinary factory spec'ed tacho and speedo. it just made me wonder if they actually knew what each gauge reading meant? i know a few motorheads back in KL that have a dash full of meters heck, i even have 2 extra gauges on my ford.

so do you really need a dash full of meters? no if you drive from A to B but yes if you constantly tinker with the heart of your car. Now if you are installing gauges just because you saw it on fast & furious then you're fucking stupid! Not only will your battery life be cut in half but it's going to be super "La-La chai aka ah beng" and you might as well just put in a blue cabin light, fluroscent lights under the car, flashing brake lights and blast that Tsim Tsa Tsui techno mix you have stashed under the seat.

speaking of La La chai's and Yo Yo mui's, what is the fascination with stickers? i can tell their cars from anyone else's, is that the reason? There's a spiderman airbrushed onto a Toyota Celica, which i might say turns head but it not the "whooo" factor but more like "what the fuck was this asian thinking of?" and petrolheads like me just try to turn a blind eye with a little voice inside, whispering "chee kow lan sin" you don't want to know what the translation means.(of course you can use babelfish but i doubt there is a selection for cantonese street slang)
