... SEARCHING >> a little bit of home

for the past year, i've been searching for little comforts that remind me of home. people, places, food and of course idiocy. take for example, we all know that the municipal council's back home need some lessons in planning i.e. digging up the road to put in a new pipe after it has just been re-"tar"-ed. stupid but it happens. and many times, it has happened to us, stuck in a traffic jam to see road works going on in peak office hours. we've all been there. we've all sweared at the road works. you could say it's a small form of quiet road rage (swearing in the confines of the car but quiet as a mouse when the windows are down).

So when i left for Aotearoa in 2004, i'd never imagined to see it happen here, i mean the press and the idiot box paints such a pretty picturesque of view of european society (shh..many still believe that they are europeans!) so to learn of this today, brings the thought idiots are everywhere.

oi JAFA's. it's just like home except that in KL all shortcuts and secondary routes would be exhausted with the same road works. many had asked, + why can't the road works had happen during the school holidays? let me answer it for the JAFA's, because most road contractors also want to be on holiday as well. i didn't experience the jam first hand (i was home alone) but it does bring me one step closer to feeling nostalgic about municipality stupidity.

.oh JAFA is a slang used by smaller towns and cities around NZ, with reference to the speeding and driving habits of aucklanders. Also their constant need to get away from the city during the weekends. In short, JAFA means "Just Another Fucking Aucklander". unfortunately i am one too but only because i live in auckland.

it's pretty easy to find somoene born in the same year.
it's fairly easy to find someone born on the same month.
it's not everyday you find someone with the same date, month and year.

my research into the series '24' uncovered this. link* . same date, same month, same year. (insert twilight zone theme here)
