much awaited post.

ahh it's been such a long time. sorry if you've missed me; if anyone did i suppose. due to blogger problems (unable to ftp into juleslee.com) and guests in my study room leeching off the bandwidth, i've been handed an informal absence of sorts but alas the guests have found their own dwellings and can feed off their own fucking bandwidth, i can resume with new year stories and candid experiences.

i've been doing some work, am nearly 30% through rough drawings. i must really concentrate on storyboarding though. i'm also preparing a new paper this semester and i had just come back from a 3 days of being a warehouse hand. i have roughly 2 weeks to prep my MA, teaching stuff and get my arse back on track. i'm also currently swimming on my off-days (tues - wed) to get back into some sort of shape.

i've officially started on the 23rd and walking in summer heat isn't really fun, the humidity levels is almost KL-like and guess what? most kiwi's love KL's weather. pfffft. so anyway the lifts are almost empty which prompts me to ask, why the fuck do people use the lift when they only need to go up/down 1 floor? it pisses the shit outta me, i get into a lift, travelling all the way down from 11 to G and there will be someone who will get in at level 5 and get out at level 4. Hello? it's DOWN a level, you don't even need to climb stairs! i find stairs fun, i use the stairs as my daily exercise, sure beats running your fucking guts out. i walk every fucking day, i walk 3 kms to the swimming pool and .5 km to work and back with a 45 degree incline slope, i'm the stair fuckin master. and you know what? i eat chicken with skin because i can fucking walk the shit right off the next day. fancy taking the lifts?

Aucklanders woke up yesterday to news of possible tolls for auckland roads. hahaha was all i could muster up, fucking dick hubbard (akl's mayor) must have taken some form of notes or advise from fucking Samy Vellu of the MIC. Not good news for Aucklanders especially when the public transportation infrastructure is solely based on constantly striking unions. Especially not good when every household have at least 3 cars - work car, wife's car and sunday car (usually a convertible). It's not too bad when you think of the hiking petrol prices $1.61 a litre at the mo; pretty fucked up when you think of the late buses/trains in raining winter weather.

My guests asked me the day they arrived, do shops really close at 5pm, you're fucking right they do! some even earlier. the question why don't shops open later and close later prompts me to bring up a not so recent debaticle about shops operating late at night. i'm guilty of perceiving that kiwis close early because they are lazy, WRONG! and i'm fucking guilty and i know it. the reason why malls (if you can call them malls :P) open early is so that retirees, nana's, gramps have their roving grounds at 7.30am, if they were to open later and close later; nana loses her roving grounds, what the fuck you expect her to do at 7.30am? and gramps definitely can't stay up till 10pm, heck most adult kiwi's don't even stay up past 9pm. so what the fuck you expect them to do? ... but it works in KL, sure it does, life in KL begins after 10pm but then again, we work a lot harder so we deserve to play a lot harder as well, get it?

later. i gotta go climb some stairs.
