as i usually walk down to the library lugging the laptop and several books to return, it didn't help that the fuckin wind was 70kph today, fucking broke my umbrella in two and got me all soaked in the process. i finally finished 100 bullets by Brian Azzerello & drawn by Eduardo Risso, it's fucking GOOD! go read.
so i had the itch to go rip some albums offered by the library so i proceed to the 2nd floor. My CD ripping process is a delicate cat + mouse game with the security guards, you see being a greenhorn in the library i stacked up about 6 cds on the table and started ripping in public, a BIG burly hand droppe don my shoulder to remind me that what i was doing was wrong, i replied in a most honest schoolboy tone, "but i was just listening to it", 'yeah right motherfucker' would have been the guard's thought of my obvious lie as 1) i had no form of sound outlet on (no headphones, nothing) 2) i had a stack of library cd's on my table 3)i had fucking itunes up on fullscreen with the words IMPORTING. fuck. i had no idea if i was brave or the guard was stupid. anyway shaken but not stirred, i returned the cds and went back. not before hacthing a plan!
the plan after a few days was to bring a set of dodgy earphones, grab the cds and grab a book. sit furtherest away from the camera nearest to a AC outlet. boot up,put the cd's into the bag, slot the cd into laptop, IMPORT and minimise. HERE's the killer deceit, open up the book and lauch MS word and begin typing notes. i have so far managed to avoid the BIG monkey though whenever i met him, i get the feeling he remembers i one-upped him the other day.
so i've been doing this for weeks and today was extra special because as i was flipping between The replacements (Paul Westerberg's ex-80's punk band) and Ministry, i found a Korean passport. damn.
+ i could keep the passport and later bribe the owner into a reward. (the 100% asian kiasu blood kickin in)
++ i could sell it on the black market (i keep hearing they cost about 10K)
+++ i could photoshop my face into the passport and try to travel on it. (too much bourne identity)
i could give it back?
so i managed to perform a good deed for a fellow asian in auckland today. upon returning it to the lady at the counter, she looked stunned but not as stunned as i was. Jesus! the lady needed a shave real BAD! i was talking to fucking teen wolf's mother. holy. so i told her that i found it on the cd racks and nope there was no reward, no medal, just thank you. and it felt good. so i proceeded to rip more albums .
