Bargains, Trades and Weekly Roundups

i think this is too late but i hoped you guys got the news on Merdeka day, yahoo was offering domain names for USD1.99 a year and $9.95 for 5 years, the offer is valid for 3 days only (if you do the math, it ends on 3rd Sept 2005). it's a damn good deal if you asked me, i pay RM55 for juleslee.com a year and come August next year i'll retire this domain for the one i bought. FYI, i bought 2 domains, i was pretty hesistant but lucky i did as come night, the offer had expired.

sold 2 cds this week - Skinny Puppy (ugh) and an extra Deftones - White Pony; which was given to me by a friend at FHM Malaysia. i think i sold them pretty cheap $5 an album, no wonder they were snapped up. i also bought a 17" Philips monitor over the weekend for $49 but i didn't make any money out of it. why not? friends don't overcharge friends.

As for the download tray, things are moving pretty slow. actually they're all stuck at 80 - 90% completion. dammit. On the download tray : six.by seven, the kills and maybe i'm going to look for "broken social scene". six.by seven and the kills are from the UK and broken social scene is from Canada. on the playlist - goldfrapp as in allison goldfrapp - a bit of trip hop, tori amos, liz phair, juliana hatfield (you get what i mean).

Back to lift stories, was in the lift today and as usual a huge crowd gathered in the hall waiting for 4 miserable lifts to take people up and down 16 floors. as i got into the lift and i would assume we were 3/4 packed, when 4 girls decided to jump in. one asked,"you think we can fit in?" another replied, "sure, we're all thin". i very nearly broke out laughing not because they weren't thin, they were but the fact that they had insinuated (i love this word ever since someone somewhere got cornered) if they were plus size, they would have squeezed in anyway. let me tell you the numerous times when the lift was packed and someone would still try to sneak in through a corner. there is an art of course, using your bag or butt to plough and pave an opening. lift courtesy is something of a forgotten trait here, well anywhere for that matter; gone are the days when a lift operator would tell you that the lift is full , wait for the other (think asiajaya days. that lift operator by the way works as a security guard at wisma atria now).

Watched identity by james mangold again for inspiration; if you haven't watched this. please do it, it's one of the few films that threw a curveball at me aside from usual suspects by bryan singer. i also managed to catch bryan singer's upcoming 2006 release of superman returns recorded for comic con as part of bryan's blog *.

this week will be killer, will be writing the methodology essay and also reviewing panel transitions for the animation.
