Singapore response

Below is the email response i received from the Singapore Tourism Board

Dear Mr Lee,

Greetings from the Singapore Tourism Board
We read your letter with concern and agree that should tourists encounter such unpleasant experiences, the image of Singapore as a safe tourist destination may be affected.

We would like to inform you that L.G.M Limited is a registered business in Singapore and there are currently no regulations or laws prohibiting the way they promote their products. However if a customer has bought his product under duress, or has been made to believe claims about the products that turned out to be false, specified bodies can consider taking action under the Consumer Protection Fair Trading Act (CPFTA).

As one of the specified bodies under this Act, the STB will continue to monitor closely the activities of this company and work with the relevant authorities on ways to curb such practices.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We wish you many pleasant visits to Singapore!

Yours sincerely,

Right, i didn't pen down the officer just in case the person is "internet-shy". Nevertheless it's a very S-A-F-E reply or rather very PR reply. doubt it's an automated reply though.

very minor changes to the blog, updated some links - made it RSS-fied - added more head assault.
