was a little inspired by the late John Peel of the BBC Peel Sessions, hence the title. { we miss you, JP}
3rd day back home; am still a little jet-lagged. hungry @ 3pm and sleepy @7pm. not too bad trip back home, first 2 hours was bad though - snob nosed brit sat next me with shoulders bigger than a samoan anyways he gave up trying to hog my seat after his LCD fucked up, so he switched places with his wifey and we had a conversation for most of the trip. {hope i wasn't depriving her of sleep ...im sorry marguerite.} i loved i,robot ..yes i haven't seen it till 3 days ago ... hey aoteoroa receives movies late, mate. yeah so i like the concept of the movie which ever so ever reminds me of Masamune Shirow's ghost in a shell, Osamu Tezuka's metropolis, quite a bit of matrix, a little of everything else. Issac Asimov's brillance - the 3 laws of robotics. great show, can't wait for the collectable DVD.
These days are literally spent on lazing around. installed WinXp SP2, didn't like it one bit. looking around for an XP SP1 versioned disc later. compatibility issues are a dime a dozen. Began my overnet adventures again - currently receiving JET-get born, perfect circle -emotive, and ocean's eleven s'track. and listening to THE BEES - free the BEES { go check out their latest MTV- chicken payback}. love playing with my 4 month old niece - carmen, ecstasy to drive a stick shifter with grunt between my balls again, weird feelings towards impatient m'sian drivers, there's nothing to watch on ASTRO, feel liberated to have shops open till 10pm everyday and thankful that the weather isn't too demanding.
received news that AUT didn't offer me the fixed position; before jumping to conclusions, i totally understand the reason behind it. i didn't lose out in terms of capability but on qualification. it just seemed right for AUT to hire a candidate with completed MA then one who's just beginning his MA. this is after all, why i decided to go on sabbatical. im keeping my fingers crossed for casual work again.
will be dropping by LKW this afternoon, there'll be lots to write about - australians getting married, eye ops, resignations ... stay tuned.
